English
Bay College has a strict "English
Only" policy. Students must speak
English anywhere on campus. Students who
break this rule will be asked to leave
the school for the rest of the day. Students
who consistently break this rule will
be expelled, receiving no refund and no
certificate.
Attendance and participation
Students who do
not attend school regularly or do not
participate fully will not receive a certificate
and may be asked to withdraw from the
program early.
Insurance
All
English Bay College students are expected
to have health insurance. Proof of insurance
will be requested on the first day of
school. Any students who do not have insurance
may purchase it through our office, if
they wish. Students will not be allowed
to participate in any EBC activities if
they do not have insurance.
Refund
Policy - General ESL Programs
Before
Program of Study Begins
•
If a student cancels 30 days or more before
the start date of the Study Program, there
will be a 90% refund. In addition, the
application fee ($100) is not refunded.
•
If a student cancels less than 30 days
before the start date of the Study Program,
there will be a 70% refund. In addition,
the application fee ($100 CAD) is not
refunded.
•
If a study permit is denied by Immigration
Canada, the applicant will receive a full
refund with the exception of the registration
fee (CAD $100). Proof of visa rejection
is required.
After
the Program of Study Begins
•
Less than 10% of the study period, English
Bay College will refund 50% of fees paid.
•
10-30% of the study period, English Bay
College will refund 30% of the fees paid.
•
After 30% of the study period, no refund
is given.
All
requests for refunds must be made in writing.
All
refunds will be paid within 90 days of
receiving written notification of withdrawal,
or within 90 days of giving written notice
of dismissal.
If
applicable, other fees, such as courier,
or credit card administration fees will
not be refunded in all of the above cases,
before or after the program of study begins.
Homestay
notice
If
you arrange a homestay through English
Bay College, and if you wish to change
your homestay reservation, you must give
2 weeks notice during the first month,
and 1 month notice after that. This notice
must be given to both the host family
and the Homestay Program Coordinator.
Notice must be given in writing. No homestay
refund is given to students who go on
a holiday.
Vacations
Students
who are studying less than 16 weeks may
not take a break in their study period,
unless the break is approved in advance,
at the time of registration.
Students
who are studying for 16 weeks or longer
may request vacation time of 2 or 4 weeks.
This must be requested at least 4 weeks
before the vacation period. |
