Vancouver Internships Program

Our Vancouver Internships Program offers students the unique opportunity to internationalize, to improve their English skills, and to gain international work experience. Our professional internships for English as a Second Language students are designed for candidates coming to Vancouver to improve their English skills and to practise them in a Canadian company.

What is an international internship?
An international internship is a supervised practical training for students and professionals at a host company that allows students to link classroom learning to workplace experience, including first hand exposure to Canadian business culture, as well as real world opportunities for practising Business English in their respective industry.

Why are internships important?

  • Super-competitive global work environment
  • Companies are recruiting the best candidates from a big pool of skilled workers

International internships give you a competitive advantage in the job market:

  • you gain international work experience
  • you obtain intercultural competencies
  • you become bi-lingual or even multi-lingual
  • you get ready for fast-paced international business environments
  • you gain conflict resolution, problem solving, adaptability, teamwork, motivation, and leadership skills.

Your internship is a monitored work experience related to your academic field of study or previous work experience, and meeting specific learning goals. As per Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) guidelines, all candidates need a valid work visa (Working Holiday Visa, SWAP or Study and Work Permit (C30 Exemption) for the entire period of their internship. Students can apply for their visa at their local Embassy of Canada. As with any internship program in Canada, Citizen and Immigration Canada guidelines require that your Internship not exceed a 50/50 split. Students can apply for their visa at their local Embassy of Canada.
